Rare's main beef with Nintendo was that they didn't have freedom I think. And 4kids + Freedom = no

unfortunaly with Microsoft Rare seems to have even less freedom.

AHAHAHAHAHA YES. Rareware is already upset with the decsion. They just might move back to the big N.

Well it's 4kids and Microsoft, so you may as well assume the article was about 4kids taking over Microsoft and that they were going to ruin every game.

OKAY SO CHOOSE TO SCREAM BLOODY MURDER OVER 4KIDS :P

If it's anyone who's embassy should be burned down, it's 4kids. Do they even have one?

Just be gald they aren't touching Halo or some other franchise.

Am I the only person that isn't bothered by this news? I mean, the XBox doesn't really've many all that great franchises anyway. Halo is ok, but not worth the what, like $200 it'd cost to get the system & the game nowadays? I dunno, the only thing about this article that interests me is the chances of Rare becoming independent again.

But then again, Rare has been lacking recently...

Actually, Nintendo sold Rare because they weren't making games at a very fast rate.

Nintendo would have to buy them back. That is not likely to happen as:

A. Nintendo probably doesn't want to buy back Rare since they sold them in the first place.

B. Even if they wanted to buy back Rare, Nintendo couldn't gather up enough money for Microsoft's taste.

C. Even if Microsoft died...
1. Rare is a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft. If Microsoft goes down, they're going down with it.
2. Supposing they survived when Microsoft died (or somehow got out before they died), again, Nintendo would have to want to buy them back. Rare would most likely become a third-party company again.

D. Four Kids is, as SP said, only helping develop a kids' franchise. They're not going to be involved in all Microsoft's games. The chance that they'll kill Microsoft's game development division is slim, despite their horrible voice-acting and control freak nature.

E. Even if Rare is unhappy about Microsoft joining with Four Kids, Microsoft most likely won't let them leave.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy or crush hopes here, just trying to be realistic. I personally hope that there is some way that Rare can get back to Nintendo, or at least out of Microsoft's clutches and back into the third-party position. It's just not something you should get your hopes up too much for.

I understand fully Banjzooie. Even I hope they become third party again.
