You know, the snes music files. I painstakingly ripped some sound effects that I wanted for my animation, but they are in .spc form. the final step is making them .mp3s. Can you give me assistance?

Why not just dump it all as .wav files and fix them up in a free wave editor?

Well, if its Snes we're talking about that is, you should do it that way.

Audio Overload + iTunes = Boom baby.

Get Audio Overload from Zophar.net, and iTunes from Apple.com.

Open up AO, and open the SPC you want. There's an option "Convert to WAV". Choose it, and type in the lenght in seconds you want. Then save the wav under any name, and open it in iTunes. From iTunes, "click convert to..." And choose MP3.

Winamp can convert just about anything it has an input plugin written for.

Winamp 2.9x comes standard with the DiskWriter plugin for writing out wave files. There's also an MP3 writing plugin, but I don't remember if it come standard or not.

I think you have to pay for the CD Ripping/MP3 encoding Winamp

I have an MP3 encoder, and I certainly didn't pay for it or pilfer it from pirates unlimited. So either it was up on the plugins page at some point, or was part of the standard download once upon a time.

I usually use diskwriter anyway, and convert after.

Parakarry, for all the times you aided me, I'm prepared to do the same. I only know a few similar sources out there, but I know programs like:

Try googleing these words:

midi to mp3

midi to wave

spc to mp3 (try it?)

or something like those...

That is all I can help you with right know.

Do not post attachments that have no relevance to the topic. It's been removed.

Your post is also largely unhelpful. MIDI will not give him SPC-related results, and saying "Google it" is just stating the obvious. If you want your post to be helpful, give links to conversion utilities, or a website with instructions, or something a little more concrete.
