Gamemaker Help!, How do you convert .wmv to .avi?

I switched gamemaker to advanced mode and had an object play the video when no key was pressed. I entered file:///C:/intro%20movie.wmv for the video file name. I ran the game and it said error: video file not found(or name too long). How do I get this video to play? Thanks to anyone who can help me. No, its in wmv format and I created the video in windows movie maker. How do you do change the format?
