Weird bar in Firefox

I do stuff, and something and always do this when that something

So, basically. Mom just updated her firefox. And upon opening it up again, she says she suddenly had a large bar at the bottom that takes up like 10 % of the screen. All I've got is this screenshot. So if any of you have any idea how to get rid of it, just reply and stuff. >_>

It might be that the bookmarks that were there might have been deleted in the process of updating Firefox. Sorry, I thought it was the blank bar below the address bar.

Binky, there's a little red chevron-like symbol on this strange bar, try clicking on it to see what happens.
