infinite loop ono

Anyways, for MMF, I'm doing paralaxing here, and I've got the background system object for my paralaxing background.

Unfortunately, when you scroll, it pastes itself into the background, making that annoying dragging problem.

What is the problem here?

Oh, BTW, there is no display option for the background system object. Go ahead. Find one.

Place another background behind it.

Do not set the level backdrop to a color - apply a solid quick backdrop over the entire field.

Is this an older version? Did you upgrade with the service packs (SP7, etc.)? Apparently the older version of the Background System object is bugged with your problem and they fixed it in the service packs.

Can't help you there, though, because the service packs require your serial number.

I would stick to what he says; however I know exactly where you can find it.

1. Type game maker in google (nothing else, but those exact words)

2. Go to the website with a red logo.

3. Look for tutorials.

4. Look for 3-D scroll with a picture of a grey mountain and trees. You should find a tutorial on how to do it.

(If what he says does not work for you)

Capeshe?

..... He's not even using Game Maker.

Yoshiman: Exactly as Draco said. It's not a Service Pack problem (SP11 btw), as that's for another problem that would prevent the background from working at all.

Yeah, I had considered that, considering I've upgraded and downloaded all the MMF Service Packs.

And I'll try Draco's idea, even though I already have a gradient quick backdrop behind it. Then again, it's not filling up the whole background.

Well, I found out my first mistake. It was in front of all the foreground stuff.

I resized the gradient to fill the whole background, and the problem still occurs.

Actually, I also tried that. Right now, I've got a solid cyan background system in the back of my transparent one filling up the whole screen, and it's still leaving trails.

So it should scroll at the same amount the primary background does?

yes. Or just have it always update its position to match the primary. Whatever works.

Mmkay. I had it stay still, I had it stay still and update, and had it scroll with the primary background. Still didn't work.

Although when I did the update event, then moved, and then stopped, the trails would suddenly destroy themselves, and everything would be back to normal, as opposed to before, where it would leave the trails whether I moved or stopped. So that's better than before. But it still creates trails anytime I move.

If I recall, it's some odd problem with the transparency settings, similar to how GIF's **** up.

Are you having it update in an "always" event? After the events that control the primary backdrop, specifically.

The goal is to to make MMF redraw the area visible through your primary backdrop, which destroys the trail.

Yes, when I did that, it did what I explained earlier.
