DS Lite vs. DS comparison

They really are that bright, I can get more comparison shots if you'd like.

Although I don't personally see a use for screens that bright.

Fortunately, the screen size is the same.

Maybe when I can find or think of a reasonable accomplishment to celebrate, I'll get me a DS Lite.

You can see just fine with the regular lit screens. These will just hurt your eyes.
Although aside from that I do like the DS Lite's design. Not that I'll buy one or anything.

I'll probably get one, just to find out if the brightness really does make a difference (or hurts your eyes). Also, you never know when you might be going spelunking. I imagine the new levels of brightness would be quite handy in that situation.

But mainly I'll be trying to get a DS Lite because of the improved battery life, the ability to lower brightness to preserve that battery life even more, and of course the general benefits of the unit's resizing and the various repositionings (microphone, power switch, stylus location).

The regular DS's backlight is bright enough. o_O Any brighter and it's gonna fry your retinas.

It certainly makes a difference, but I thought the original DS's screen was already a lot brighter than the GBA:SP (Obviously, not the new one with the brighter screen)... If this is the case than the DS Lite must be really, really bright.

Unless you're a reverse mole man, which for some reason I cannot think of a character that falls under that description.

They look ******* sweet. I'll get one fo sho.

They are that bright. I had a GB Micro.

And by the way, it doesn't hurt your eyes.

Won't you lose data from your old Wi-Fi Connections, though? Somewhere I read that Wi-Fi data of some sort can only be used on one DS-and-cartridge combination, and playing a game in another DS might delete that data (or current connection settings, etc).

Yes, it will be inacessable ont he new DS.

The connection settings are stored within your DS.

Everything else like your records and such are stored in your Game Pak.

...Yes it is. Any smaller and they'd have to shrink the screens.

That doesn't really matter. What does matter is that it's lighter, so it doesn't feel like you're carrying around a silver brick anymore.

I made this a while ago as a comparison (includes thickness)

so if you had a regular DS it would give you idea how much smaller the Lite was
