Pardon the double-post, but I just about finished my picture.
I did sketches of my 6 favourite Mario characters (sorry Yoshi, DK, Bowser, etc.) in various hockey positions.
The uniforms are based slightly off NHL teams, but other things as well.

Thoughts:
I've never been good at drawing the princesses, but I daresay that Daisy came out nice.
Luigi is chewing gum, akin to Pat Quinn, coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I'm not so fond of Mario. I just can't draw that guy!
Waluigi is certainly an instigator in hockey. Doesn't he look like he's gonna cross-check or hook someone?
Peach + Goalie = WINNER. All I gotta say.
Wario is my new MSN avatar. That guy's a pugilist all the way, always ready to drop the gloves.
