You can't tell me that map made up of two tiny ass circular platforms and morphball cannons was any good for anything. At ALL.

I'm not saying to make the maps huge. I'm saying they should at least have a little more size to them, as MP2's were more or less just wide open area where you get your **** fried in 2 seconds. They weren't fun, period.

You obviously haven't played a whole lot of online FPS games. I've seen quite a few "duelling" maps for one-versus-one play, which, as you would guess, are only two or three rooms big.

Of the four Echoes maps I've unlocked (of the six), only one has the so-called "wide open areas" you claim: Crossfire Chaos, with it's big central area. (Kind of reminds me of Beaver Creek from Halo, really) But even THAT has enough cover and quite enough room for four players to run around.

Methinks you're just being picky. wink.gif

No, the MP2 arenas just genuinely suck.

And you're right, I don't play a lot of online FPSs because a) my computer sucks, and b) Aside from the Timesplitters games, FPSs as a whole don't interest me much.

Prime 2's multiplayer... wasn't very good.

That map with the morphball cannons was hilarious because I always launched two people into each other soveryhappy.gif

oh god, only 4 players? you make me weep more than you already have over the last few years, nintendo

Would you prefer 16 players with a framerate as bad as Elder Scrolls 5?

So let me get this straight. I've basically refuted every point you've made about why MP2's arenas sucked, and you still persist, now without a reason, period - and on top of this, you don't even play FPS games very much.

Huh. Well, okay.

Um. Okay, so:

- Metroid Prime 2 was up to 4 player split screen
- Hunters is up to 4 players online
- There were a couple maps in MP2 that, for four players, were very decently sized (size of an average Quake 3 map, if you ask me).

Bigger is not always better. The bigger the map is, the harder it becomes to find opponents. With a maximum of four people supported for online matches, the sizes are big enough. tongue.gif

Most of the levels were pretty damn small.

Not for four players they weren't. Which would you rather have:

- Constant, fast, furious action?

or...

- Spending time trying to find the action because the Map's too big for four players?

Most MP2E maps were big enough to comfortably contain 3-4 opponents. Obviously some were smaller than others, but that's the whole point. Maps big enough for one-on-one and maps big enough for two-on-two. Not maps for eight players, or sixteen. Four.

They might appear small compared to maps bundled with, say, Quake 3, or Unreal Tournament, but those maps were designed for 8 players at least.

Huh. Well, okay.

You haven't so much refuted anything as you have given your opinion as to why you felt they were appropriately sized. And I disagree with it and will continue to do so. I don't need to have played 5 billion FPS's to know when I've played a ****ty multiplayer stage.
