Halo or Metroid?

I prefer Metroid over Halo myself. My brother thinks Halo is way better. I always thought that Halo was a spinoff of Metroid. One is a platformer about exploring large areas, using your brain to solve difficult puzzles, while the other is a mindless, poorly textured, story driven, FPS. I don't understand why you are comparing these. It's like claiming that Gumshoe and Doom are sister franchises, and can easily be compared. --------------------

It's simple. The idiot "hardcore" gamers nowadays never got to experience Super Metroid, thus they think that Metroid Prime is a stand-alone game in itself, and a pure FPS.

I played a lot of the original metroid games and they were all great. I'm not asking which is a better FPS, I just wanted to know which series everyone enjoyed more.
