While we're on this subject:
The Legend of Zelda Only great because (not to mention when) it was the series' launch title for the NES. This game really isn't very good.
Adventure of Link Although many dislike it because it strayed from the formula, it was still a pretty badass game. I liked it because it had platforms -- the first game had like, no platforms. Yuck.
Link to the Past This game is boring as hell until Turtle Rock, but then you've beaten it already. Smashing into trees and being assaulted by wasps / bombs is awesome.
Link's Awakening I really did not like this game. Mostly because it was just too goddamned annoying -- if someone remade it with Not-Terrible graphics and music it might be playable. It's sort of sad you need a Roc's feather to jump ledges. And about the music; I counted an astounding five tracks in this game, and with the exception of Tal Tal Heights (which is awesome) they all suck; most of them are loops of the same twenty seconds, with many empty spots. The fact all the instruments are GameBoy waves made it worse.
Ocarina of Time Often heralded as the best game ever. I can't really agree, but it isn't at all as boring as Link to the Past.
Majora's Mask So far, I like this best of the whole series; mostly because not only do you get to run around being the Pimp of Time, you get to show all your friends you can do the entire Kafei and Anju side quests and beat two dungeons in one cycle without slowing time.
Oracle of Ages This was like Link's Awakening with a cute tree and time travel.
Oracle of Seasons I didn't play this.
Minish Cap This game wasn't that bad, but it wasn't very good. It was mostly mediocre; the rotations like in that log were pretty cool.
The fact every boss ever except like the last one were regular enemies kinda sucked, although it was cool how much goddamn harder they are.

| QUOTE (Klobber @ Mar 24 2006, 02:44 AM) | Using that glitch where you bring up the map when the screen is changing to skip rooms
The last time I played LA was when I was little, so yeah, I was a damn dirty cheater I'll beat it the real way someday, honest |
Ooh ooh! Spoilers: | You gotta take the ball into the upper-right pillar room then smash it, then take it down to the lower right pillar room then hit that one... then I think you've gotta bring it up to the upper left one, maybe... then go back to where the lower right one was and throw it over the wall... er, then go around I forget which way but go to where you threw the ball... I think you have to beat a cyclops and then go into the next room where the three card enemies are and match them to make a chest appear... grab the ball and toss it across the pit where the chest is, then hookshot across, and bomb your way to the last pillar. |
...That's the gist of it anyway.

It looks to me like Link is controlled by the D-Pad, but perhaps Navi by the stylus?
Am I the only one who found Navi cute? XD
I still think this looks fantastic. A cel shaded Zelda was just what I had hoped for. I really, REALLY wanted that Wind Waker followup they had talked about, and in ways I was quite disappointed when I first saw the very early Twilight Princess pictures - though it is looking better now.
Obviously, this one doesn't look as good as the Wind Waker, which frankly looks friggin incredible, but I still think it'll be brilliant.
I prefer Zelda in 3D by miles but this one looks great because it's sort of half way there, this new popular DS style 2.5D where you have a 2D styled camera angle for a game generated in 3D.
Looks simply wonderful, now I just hope that the story is as exciting as the console Zelda's tend to be, as I found, though the handheld ones are great as well, their stories don't seem quite so deep and exciting, excluding Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past(though that's a console port anyway). Judging by the fact that this one is directed by the team who do the main console Zeldas, and not Capcom or whoever, this should be bloody good.
My dream Zelda though would be a console based cel shaded one, but with more realisic 'artwork' - as in better proportioned people and more thoughtful water effects but still the cel shading and cartoon special effects. But that's just me!
