Revolution Disscussion topic., Brainstorm on Game possibilties.

With the revolution's singled handed controller, you can do many things that you can't do with two handed controllers.

A Warioware game is a given for this system, that series is known for many different types of gameplay in one game.

One type of game I'd really like to see, as I am a future Music major in a college I have not chosen yet, is a conducting game. They might use Donkey Kong for it though, since it will be a rythm-based gameplay type. I really hope they use Donkey Kong for a real game though, Wario Ware is the best franchise for testing new things.

It is a type of game that could educate people on how music is made, and what goes into the basis for each and every single song ever made. Then again, I've always wanted to see a marching band game.



So give ideas on what type of gameplay you would like to see on the Next Nintendo System.

Finally, a controller that caters to XXX video game producers!

I heard about a Metroid Prime 3 game coming out soon. And Mario DDR even though you all know that. Anyway, yeah. The controller looks like a remote. But there's a satisfying number of buttons.

Seeing as how E3 (and the Revolution launch as a whole) is drawing closer, and closer, perhaps we could sticky this...?

If they want a game with cleaning, I can think of certain robot.

ALso, it'd be kinda cool using Yoshi's tounge. You point at an enemy, press the button, and BAM, tounge'd.

Oh yeah, with the remote controller, somebody like Miyamoto should pick up the Katamari franchise, and develop a game for the Revolution. A control style where you use the remote to turn, would breathe new life into the series.

I've been talking about lots of possible games for it with friends. Obviously Wario Ware will be amazing, especially on multiplayer, but here's some of the concepts we've come up with.

Project Nebula Revolution well Project Nebula is the quite popular recent FZ game (try it out here) which uses the keyboard and mouse combined to make a very flexible space shooter, and if the remote were to be used to control the crosshairs like the mouse is, and the trigger on the bottom as the mouse button, then the analog could be used like the keyboard (except, obviously, it would control better than a keyboard) and it would be a great experience.

Light Gun FPS with movement which involves using the remote control to aim crosshairs and fire anywhere on the screen and using the left hand analog stick to move (traditional controls, the analog stick used to move and turn and the two triggers to strafe). This would allow for a classic style shooter with much more freedom.

Light Gun FPS with movement 2 which involves the same system, however the analog stick is used to move and strafe, and in order to turn or look up or down, you move the crosshair right to the edges of the screen, similiar to when you drag an item in Windows to the edge of a window and it scrolls automatically.

Resident Evil type game which uses the analog stick to move on the screen (NOT RE style, proper analog style), and the remote is used to aim a crosshair, which the character will always aim at (for example, if you walk away from the crosshair, the character will walk backwards), and the trigger on the remote to fire. This would give extremely flexible and quick reaction speeds meaning you could have a tonne of enemies on screen and it would still be fair and easy to take them out quickly.

NiGHTS Revolution a remake of (or a new game based on) NiGHTS for the Saturn, which uses the remote to tell Nights where to go. Would really enhance the feel of the flying and just about anybody could play.

Racing game in which you hold the remote in both hands, sideways, and turn it like a steering wheel and use your thumb on the buttons as the pedals.

Final Fantasy would be easier since you could use the remote to move a cursor around the screen and treat it like a mouse, making it quicker and easier to select moves and such from the menus.

HeXen III (or similiar) in which you could use the analog to move in a similiar style to Light Gun FPS with movement but swing the remote to use the swords, clubs, axes et cetera.

Some people mentioned games using two controllers. Well it is said that the Revolution will ship with two controllers instead of one, perhaps to promote the multiplayer (which is going to rock!) more, but this means developers probably woudln't mind making games which require two controllers as you wouldn't have to buy an extra one to play it.

EDIT: and I hope the power buttons automatically get disabled on non 1P controllers
