| QUOTE (DistantJ @ Mar 25 2006, 06:15 PM) | | Slayers: The Motion Picture pissed Slayers (anime) fans off because it only had the lead character from the series and none of the others, they were replaced by a new character. However this new character is in my opinion more humorous than all of the previous ones put together, and the story and style of the movie is leaps and bounds above the series. The film gets slated just for the fact that it doesn't include some cheesy characters which I think is a real shame. |
Translation: OMFG NAGA HAS EE-CUP BOOBIES LOLZ. Am I right?
Gourry, Zelgadis, Amelia and Xellos help make the Slayers series what it is and each one has their own distinct personality--not necessarily original in their own rights, but combined with the fact that Slayers is, for the most part, a parody series, it takes their behavior and turns it into something full of awesome. Naga, however, is as original as Zel and the rest, except there's no way to parody a parody, making her any funnier. Watching Naga in action is like watching Jesse from Pokémon, if James and Meowth weren't there to make her not suck. (Ironically enough, both Jesse and Naga are voiced by Rachel Lillis. But I digress.) However, if you want to talk about underrated Slayers movies, Slayers: Premium is as underrated as it gets.
Oh and on the side, no Hayo Mizaki film is ever underrated, ever. Including Howl's Moving Castle, which, to this day, DeviantArt still has advertisements all over the gotdamn place for.
