A Revolution game called "Sadness", that appears to be entirely in black and white, and set before the first World War. Funky.

NIBRIS (some no name developer who's developing this game) has stated wanting to develop a game for Nintendo for awhile.

It seems...odd.

I have always wondered why black and white wasn't used more in games. It's very artistic.

And the concept also excites me, it should be a nice change of pace. I'll likely be getting it.

All Gameboy games had this special graphics style built in.
Only on Gameboy Pocket they also had the maximum quality.

Heh, I was wondering when someone would make a game like that, especially when there's a couple of 'new' movies that were made in black and white for style. Sounds interesting in a style point of view.

All Gameboy games had this special graphics style built in.
Only on Gameboy Pocket they also had the maximum quality.

The difference here is that Gameboy titles were monochrome due to technical limitations at the time (you can't even really say they started out grayscale, since the first Gameboy system had that cabbage-green screen. Grayscale started with the GBP, which was more like an LCD game than anything.) and Sadness is being developed for a console whose capacity for technical awesomeness far exceeds color pallette. The fact that this game is entirely grayscale is so unique because the decision to do this was made by choice.

That being said, I wish there was more information about the game: what it's about, what style of game it will be, etc. The other Revolution game that's been announced hasn't caught my interest so far, and with no news on SSBR, this has percolated my sense of intrigue.

QUOTE
Sadness is a gothic horror title that is being kept under wraps as a confidential project for now. It will be a game for adult players only (strong nerves are a must) and will feature themes of paranoid schizophrenia, narcolepsy (a disorder that causes sufferers to uncontrollably fall asleep) and nyctophobia (the fear of darkness and the night).

So I'm betting this might be a survival horror/adventure type thing.

I hope it's not one of those point and click type things they do for the computer

Because that would be boring and a waste of potential for Revolution

Not every single Revolution game has to be a dramatic innovation.
But I have to agree with that, point and clicks are better suited for the PC.
