I've never really liked it in your style either to be honest  Though in your style it was a lot less noticable with the soft edges so it didn't look all that bad. Anyway onto the work: The animations aren't TOO bad. When you actually animate them you can see some problems. (Stiffness for one, he doesn't move at all when he punches, for example). The sprites, on their own are... quite ugly, to be quite honest. The stairstepping and basic shape being the problems. But still, keep at it. :>

Yeah, I tried black outlines, but for some reason, it seems unusual to me.
I'm gonna go back to using colored outlines, sans stairstepping.
