Diablo 2 and/or Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction

Anyone play these games? I used to play years ago, and I just found my disks. I'm installing it as I type.

I haven't played for a few months, but yeah, I have it.

Every time I die, I seem to lose all my money (or most of it anyway) which I actually use, unlike some people. See, I normally don't root through all the junk enemies drop looking for items, I buy most of what I need. So yeah, non-hardcore is bad enough.

I sorta forgot how hardcore gives you big luck boosts and stuff, so you can find rare and better stuff easier. So I guess losing anything in normal is worse.

Still the idea of TOTAL DEATH just seems so cool to me

Now that I think about it, hardcore probably wouldn't be all that bad... just means I would have to be extra cautious around bosses and stuff.

But back in the day when I played this game on a POS computer with a 56k dial-up modem, hardcore scared the crap out of me. This was mostly because, once a boss appeared and the screen lit up and everything, there would be a 10-15 second lag (no joke) before I would even two or three fps. What this usually meant was I was dead before I even saw the boss.

Yea, that always sucks when you click, realize you're lagging, and vwoosh you're dead =(
