Steve Colbert, old co-host of Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, and current host of The Colbert Report had the "honor" of addressing thousands of journalists and President Bush at the White House Correspondents Association dinner, May 1, 2006.

Part 1
Part 2
So essentially, the dinner was a roast of sorts--but many, well, sources such as Fox, and AOL believe that Colbert may have stepped "too far".

Watch both of them. It's entertaining.

Well wasn't he invited?
That's a pretty foolish thing if that's the case.

They invited a guy whose biggest claim to fame is that he has a show wherein he makes fun of conservative politics. What were they expecting?

I would have posted it as I heard a clip of this on the radio, but I decided to post it only now because of the rising temperatures of controversy.

The media sort of "shrugged it off", and most recently (as in the past day) blogs, articles, and mainstream news sources like Fox, have been flooded with "Steven Colbert is a bad guy etc. etc.".

Entertainment can not always lead to a valid discussion, even in extreme cases such as this. That's why I refrained from mentioning it until there was an interestingly large amount of publicity surrounding Steven Colbert. But nothing was stopping you from posting it, Duckboy.

I posted the clips in the PPP, but not many people saw them.

It's conservative parody, and he makes it apparent. XD

QUOTE (Wikipedia)
Although not particularly political before joining The Daily Show, Colbert is a self-described Democrat. Bill O'Reilly jokingly called for a boycott of The Colbert Report on its sister show The Daily Show, because he thought Colbert was French; however, Colbert is Irish-American and his surname is Irish (of Norman origin). The association of his name as French may stem from the Colbert Report short that first appeared on The Daily Show, in which Colbert, after the title is said with a silent "t," states, "It's French, *****!"
