Some Badge Suggestions

What about year badges for the year each person joined MFGG? Like generations in a sense. Have like a 99 or 03, ect. Of course we'd have to have something like a no earlier then the past year. (2005) And they are only handed out by request and if the person is active.


EDIT: Actually this is a stupid idea, since the join date is listed.

DOUBLE EDIT: OR maybe have like the amount of years you've been here.

A wiki badge for major contributions made by a member?


Any other ideas?

Personally, I don't enjoy the idea. I don't like the sense that somebody is 'rewarded' because they've been here longer than another member. Is your average joe schmoe who happens to be on the member list with zero posts going to get rewarded with a badge just because he joined before me? No, I don't think that's right - there are people who have contributed to this site much more than any old member could dream of, and I don't think join date is relevent to the site, or forum. Badges are meant to show your effort, in either creating something for a competition, or contributing reviews and sprites to the mainsite; it's not about how long you've been draining your dignity by posting on a message board. That's not the moral of badges.

It's an entirely controversial issue, and will stir up much trouble of executed.

That's why I went for the active part. :o

Any ideas for new badges?

The skull badge. Oh wait a second.

None of those ideas are any good

But I WAS thinking we need a Mega Submitter Badge... the Super Submitter is for like 20 or so submissions, I forget the number. When you get 50 submissions, like No BO who has over 100, he should get the red P-up-D-down badge instead of the green one.

That in itself is kind of the one year badge anyway, by the way, only it makes sense.

The only badges I'd like to see are comp badges that extend further than just 5+... extending it to 10+ or something.

More likely the 5+ symbol to stay, but the amount to go higher. You could see it by hovering mouse over the badge.
Also, the Minigame Comp 2, 3, 4, 5, 5+ symbols. It's pretty awkward to see Guina having many same badges.

Having ambiguous badges like "Nice Member", "Old and Active Member", and "Awesome Mustache" would be impossible because that'd be left up to interpretation. It's much easier when there are discreet values.
