You've all heard it. You've all hated it. One of the most quoted tunes in theme park history, small world holds a place in all of our hearts. Come on, admit it. Originally created for the 1964 World's Fair in New York as an exhibit to benefit UNICEF, it has opened at every park, except for Hong Kong.
-Disneyland Report-Grand Opening: May 28, 1966

The first small world to be built it has changed the most over the years. It's outside is a fully constructed clock unlike World and has changed several colors. Unlike other versions it has each country in a seperate room. Totaling with over 10 languages it features some of the earliest models, some of which are out dated and just plain poor by today's standards. This version also features the "it's a small world holiday" where the song is replaced by holiday tunes. Holds 605 figures throughout the ride.
-Disneyworld Report-Grand opening: October 1, 1971

For whatever reason this version is the most compacted. It appears as any other ride with no special frontal decorations. It was closed on May 2, 2004 to be refurbished and opened again on March 18, 2005. Having rode both versions I can say it WAS an improvement. This version also has almost 200 less figures then the Disneyland version. (472 total) Again, for whatever reason this version comes up short to it's original version. However it does move almost 2 mins slower.
-Tokyo Disneyworld Report-Grand opening: April 15, 1983

I have not gone on this version of the ride.
-Disneyland Paris Report-Grand opening: April 12, 1992

This version of the ride is again so much bigger and much more improved then other versions. I don't know if the French have shorter attention spans or what but it blows others out of the water. Much like Space Mountain. It's massive globe fountain outside and amazing gardens only add to this.
-Disneyland Hong Kong Report-There is no it's a small world at Disneyland Hong Kong.
Winner: Disneyland Paris
Bigger. Better. More detailed. Due to the fact it's the newest no doubt, still wins by a long shot.
