Though I hear it was recepted REALLY badly, and even at the canne's film festival it was booed and hissed at the end. even my father, who wanted to see it badly, said it was "eh". And that nobody in the theater made a sound when it was over, just dead silence

I loved the book. It was an awesome original read and very very interesting ideas. However, This is a case of "The book is better than the movie". Tom Hanks was great as usual. But Ian McKellen and Paul Bettany completely stole the show, quickly followed by Jean Reno. The movie is long (2 hrs. 0in[???] 3ms) But the whole main story is rushed you'll feel it's over in an hour. They focus on the dining room then the main story. You'll be suprised at how quickly they solve the riddle, unlike the book. And that brings me to another point. Did they even read the book when they made this film? Sure, it has its main story but so many LPZEUSZ[what the f**k] and characters and changed or felt out. In fact, the whole ending has changed. Again, it still has its main ideas but its set in tottally different locations. Really, it was disapointing how they moved so fast and left nights[???] out only to focus on the ending which they changed anyway. if you're a fan of the book you'll be a bit upset.

Christ I'm bored.

If you're viewing the movie as a stand alone movie, or a movie-based-off-a-book.

That was more of a movie-based-off-a-book review.

Never read the book, but it's an idiotic concept with completely unoriginal ideas.

It's getting bad reviews, but I'll see it anyway.

Interesting story, my aunt, who is a nun, called my mom a while ago and told her that the bishop at her church said that seeing the movie was a mortal sin, because you're directly paying for something that is a lie against God. So, along with murder and suicide, he have "seeing the Da Vinci Code" as a mortal sin.

Anyway, my mom retaliated with "It's just a story. And it was a story 2 years ago when I read it." I'm glad she can be religious and not unreasonable.

So there's my story. I'm seeing the movie partially out of interest, partially cause I read the book, and partially out of spite. :P

Tom Hanks IS nothing special.
